You can go to any county health for an STD check or for pap smears.

They do require proof of income for any visit. I think they also do a few "emergency" type visits, flu shots, etc.  SOME health departments do check-ups.

Planned Parenthood (www.plannedparenthood.com) works on a sliding scale. They have a variety of services.

Prescriptions: speak with your pharmacist. They should be able to tell you who the manufacturer of the drug you need is. You can then call them or visit the web and get information on a "scholarship" which will oftentimes pay for your meds--depending on income. Some links:

Medicare

**Georgia is one of the few states that does not have a high risk pool for individuals who are unable to get private insurance. Write to your state representatives to urge them to approve the creation and funding of a high risk pool.
